| Welcome to the second International Welsh
Celtic Fiddle Competition. |
| This weekend is intended to gather fellow fiddlers from
all over to learn, play, socialise and compete. As organisers we’re
hoping that we have provided the perfect setting, workshops, and tutors,
so that you can get as much as possible out of the workshops. |
Some of the workshops seem like they have nothing to do with fiddling
at all; this is because they are an integral part of the instrument,
the music and the traditional arts in Wales. They will be light and
entertaining.
You will be aware of our sponsors who have been invited to the event
and some may even take part. They have given their time, funding and
hard efforts to make sure that we can give you the best in return.
There are volunteers who have rallied around before this weekend finding
sources of food and refreshment. Some will be helping on the weekend.
Any food and refreshments served by these volunteers are provided
on a donation basis. Volunteers will not only be seen in the kitchen
but also as stewards in the workshops and will be able to help you
with most of your queries or problems.
If you have any others then please speak to:
David Hughes (Admin, Competition, Accom.);
Siân Phillips (Press & Media, Workshops)
www.welshcelticfiddle.co.uk;
or
Jackie Kemp (Catering).
The centre has some great facilities – feel free to make the
most of them and abide by the centre guidelines for their use –
only 10 people allowed in the swimming pool at any one time!
We would really like you to give us feedback.
Yes… good or bad. This will help us improve for next year. There
will be a book to write down ideas, improvements and criticisms, praises
and thoughts.
Thanks
David Hughes – Organiser
