Welcome to Pembroke
Festival 2006!
An exciting ten-day programme of events and activities
in which locals and holidaymakers of all ages are invited
to help celebrate the rich heritage of this fascinating and
historic walled town.
The eleventh century Norman castle is the venue for many
of the events again this year. Our heartfelt thanks go to
The Castle Trust for their continuing support. It was in Pembroke
Castle in 1457 that Henry Tudor - founder of the Tudor
dynasty - was born, and the stronghold also played a key
role during the Civil Wars when Cromwell himself laid siege
to the town.
The town council hosts Pembroke Festival 2006 and our primary
sponsor is Chevron. It is supported by Pembroke 21C community
association, along with a host of other local businesses,
individuals and event sponsors as highlighted in the programme.
